Again 7.4 magnitude quake shakes Japan

TOKYO: A powerful earthquake measuring 7.4 magnitude on the Richter scale hit northeastern Japan late Thursday.

Television report from Japan said a tsunami alert has been issued for the affected areas.

The quake, which hit at 11:32 pm Japan time (10.35 Malaysian time) is reported to have struck 66 kilometres east of Sendai.

Sendai is the city that faced the worst brunt of the tsunami following a 9 magnitude earthquake about a month ago.

According to the report, emergency workers at the stricken Japan nuclear plant in Fukushima have been ordered to evacuate.

my Earth Hour 2011

26th March 2011, 8.30pm - 9.30pm is the 3rd year of 60 Earth Hour. I took the effort to go around few places in 2009 which was so fun, but din't explore during 2010 (forgotten what i'm busy on). As I was out today, by 8.30pm I was still on the road, so i drove around some places for a look before going home.

This year seems not much advertisement and public awareness, coz only IKEA and IKANO is participating on the 60 Earth Hour.

Japan Earthquake and Tsunami on 11th March 2011

Japan was struck by the 8.9-magnitute tremor earthquake that trigger a massive tsunami on 11th March 2011, last Friday. During the earthquake I was still at work, and friends all around were telling me how scary was the struck to Japan. Due to the blockage of youtube in office, I can only watch it when I get home.

To my shocked the disaster was so terrible and almost the north-east coast of Japan was wiped off by the tsunami !! Looking at the cars, ships and even buildings were swept away by a wall of water(sea), I thought i was watching a movie.

The meaningful video

Everyone can see and feel that the earth is getting sick and is actually very sick now. earth quake all over the world almost every month.... the climate had change is many countries.. this is totally very abnormal.... although we cant do much now... but least we can participate on this Earth Hour... !!! Do whatever we can now, rather waiting for ''independence day'' 世界末日for the world.

this is my second year of Earth Hour... hahaa last year i switch off everything and had a shower in the dark... then i went out to shoot some pictures during the hour. havent thought what will i do this year yet in the dark.

Say NO to plastic bags, Save the Environment

Yesterday went to IKEA for a walk after dinner.... but end up buying some goods back home...

when I was paying... saw this cute little turtle... but it's '=overturn =.='' i din't really read through yet... then the cashier ask me need plastic bags or not?? then i was harr... err i thought it used to have plastic bags even right?? then the cashier say that they will charge RM0.20 per plastic bag... ----

at last I paid without any plastic bags... saw many other ppl are doing the same too... pushing out their trolly without any plastic bags...

so happy I did something good today !!! to help the environment... I know I din't do much... but if everyone do a little... the environment will saved !! the world will be saved !! hehheee

luckily i parked my car in IKEA this time... straight push the trolly to car park.. and shift everything into the car boot... ^.^

for those without a car.. can try to bring a recycle bag out OR a big bag when go out shopping... so can save up some plastic bags too !!

my Earth Day 2009

It is Earth's birthday today.. 22nd April... Earth DAY !!

Honestly I just aware this morning through the radio station... hehhee (pai seh)... i think i heard before but din't aware or remember the date bah...

i google and found the meaning of earth day as follows: 

Earth Day, celebrated April 22, is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries every year. This date is Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

Did any green today??

I just did a very small part.... use recycle papers in the office... as we already did it everyday.... because our department paper usage is really scary..!! alot of drafts and originals to be printed and all one sided only.... papers are like water ''flowing out'' 

but the most stupid thing is our printers... often jammed with recycle papers =.='' 

whatever... we still try to use the recycle papers.... and retrieve the jammed papers everyday... hahhaa think ppl should invent printers mainly for recycle papers... yeah!

my Earth Hour 2009

the earth hour of the year - 28 March 2009 8.30pm-9.30pm

i switched off all my rooms lights but the car porch light uses timer so i cant off that.

then i went out for a drive ... thought to experience the dark city of PJ.

the housing area was quite dark...

the stores at SS2. most of them off the sign boards' light.

eonbank off the lights inside the bank but ATM lights was on... (if not will be dangerous)

found an electrical shop switch off most all the light and left some dimer lights and their TVs showing the ''60 earth hour'' logo.

the Leo Cafe @ SS2

along the LDP is still very bright because of the cars and road lamps.


the TV3 building is totally dark...




One World Hotel @ 1U is also lights off except for some rooms

the 1Utama shopping complex ... taken from the flyover bridge....
all outside lights are off.

there is a wide TV screen showing the ''60 earth hour'' too..

Cineleisure Complex of the left... only the advertising TV was on.

this most darkest place i went that night.... left side was Royale Bintang hotel and The curve, right side was Ikano....

IKEA was off too.... except the Courts digital mall

then i join my friend at to Kota Damansara for a drink.... saw this Standard Chartered bank is totally lights off.

Most of the shops and restaurants... turn their lights dim....



and the most brightess ever during the Earth Hour will be this --- the BATA @ SS2.... ahahhaa

Glad that Malaysian participates in this global event - 60 Earth Hour together.... hopes we did help a little to the Earth... and also please be reminded that not only switch off the lights during ''earth hour''.... switch off them anytime when is not necessary too.
