60 Earth Hour @ 28th March 2009

The EARTH HOUR began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their light for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their light.

In 2009, EARTH HOUR is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you're from, but instead, what planed you're form. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community.

This year, EARTH HOUR has been transformed into the world's first global election, between Earth and global warming.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for EARTH HOUR.

on SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 8:30pm - 9:30pm.

Its time for all individual to do something for the Earth.
Its time to switch off the lights which had been ''working non-stop''.
Its time to rest your desktop, your mac, your pc ... switch it off just for an hour.
Its time for an opportunity to rest your mind, enjoy the one hour of darkness and silent.

Lets participate in the global election - vote for the Earth.
Lets be part of the global goal.
Lets join the Earth Hour.

hmmm by the way, are we suppose to switch off the fan and air conditional too? i think air conditional seriously leads to global warming too.

  1. The new Vote Earth 2009 global website has launched. There is an element on the site that uses Friend Connect and we want to get 1 billion people on the site by November.

Would love your help to get more people involved. All you need to do is go to the site, register with Friend Connect and then get more people involved. http://www.voteearth2009.org

Thanks for your help. Get involved and VOTE EARTH!

  2. One will need awareness rather than Earth Day to save this planet. Even our government is slow to implement the right approach for this purpose

  4. Thanks for promoting Earth Hour! Another way you can recruit people to the cause is by creating a Earth Hour group on Commit21.com. Simply create a group about one action that you will commit to do for Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved in that action as well. When it comes to climate change, simple actions can make huge differences and Commit21 leverages social media to influence networks of friends, family, and co-workers. Check it out at www.commit21.com
